For most of 2021 I've been working behind the scenes (aka offline) setting up some new projects/goals for the upcoming year. And I've been making some really good progress, even if those steps aren't something that are easily documented in Instagram or Facebook posts.
But I did want to share something I finally pulled together that was on my to-do list!
Well, it's not so much a "Wall of Fame" as it is artists that I just really, really love to follow. Over the last few years as I've started pursing art with a little more direction and gumption, I've enjoyed browsing the art community for inspiration and encouragement.
And there are thousands of amazing artists out there, and I follow several HUNDRED across all my social media accounts. But if I had to narrow it down to just 20, these would be those artists.
It's really fun how different they are, and all the different reasons that they make my top 20. For some it's their subject choice or use of color, others it's their sheer passion for what they do, or the fact that I see them showing up every single day and encouraging their art community, which in turn motivates me. Some of these artists teach classes, while others do time-lapse videos of their art. Acrylics, oil, watercolor, gouache, mixed media, photography, all the art mediums are here!
I'm also currently working on building my own "Gallery wall of inspiration" in my personal closet, where I hope to eventually acquire one original and/or print of every one of these artists. As of writing this, I have 7 out of 20 collected (1 original, 6 prints), so not too shabby!
And for any relatives reading this, you now have some easy ideas on what to get me for a present ;-)
Later one I plan to do some blog posts highlighting each of them specifically and why I love them, but for now, check out my new Awesome Artists page, click around to their website, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube (I tried to link to their most active accounts) and hopefully you'll discover some new art that will inspire you!
